✍ Event Wrap-Up: NZCS Next Wave Coastal Career Series – Auckland Kickoff

On 31st July, we launched the NZCS Next Wave Coastal Career Series with an inspiring first event hosted at Tonkin + Taylor's Auckland office. With over 45 attendees in person and a similar number joining online, the evening was filled with engaging conversations, valuable insights, and a strong sense of community.

We were privileged to hear from four fantastic speakers — Emma Ryan, Matt McNeil, Jennifer Hart, and Eddie Beetham — who generously shared their career journeys, lessons learned, and advice for navigating their coastal profession. Their stories sparked thoughtful discussion and left attendees feeling motivated and better equipped to shape their own career paths.

A huge thank you to our speakers and attendees for making this event such a success. Big props to Holly Blakely and Megan Tuck for their mahi in pulling the event together.

We’re excited to keep the momentum going and look forward to the next event in the series, which will be held in Christchurch (and online) on the 30th October.
