Bio: 2021 - Currently completing the 3rd year of a BSc majoring in Ecology & Biodiversity, at the University of Waikato

2020 - Level 6 NZ Diploma in Environmental Management (Marine Strand), from Toi Ohomai Institute of Technology

Over the summer of 2020/21 I worked for BOPRC as a Marine & Coastal Ecology summer student. During this time I carried out a project investigating deep reef biodiversity around Motiti Island using a drop camera, making many interesting discoveries. This project was part of my work for BOPRC, but was also my Undergraduate Research Project for the University of Waikato.

In 2020 I carried out a project with DoC which assessed snapper size and abundance around Tuhua, using baited underwater video surveys (BUV).

Over the past few years through my study and through diving, I have developed a keen interest in marine ecology, especially rocky reef fish, sponges, and coral reef ecosystems. I am just at the beginning of my scientific journey and am excited to discover other areas of science that fuel my passion for the ocean.
