Bio: Reuben practices in the fields of environmental science, environmental engineering and environmental management. He works as a trusted advisor to central and local government, port, constructor, energy and industry clients across NZ by providing tailored approaches to the monitoring, assessment and management of environmental impacts and environmental risk. In the coastal space he focuses on port and harbour construction environmental management, water and sediment quality and coastal hazards. Reuben manages environmental risk across a whole of project life cycle including strategic advisory, business case, feasibility, design, consenting, construction, operation, and monitoring. Reuben has sought-after skills and experience in working with, and for, tangata whenua, as he understands both western science and the māori world view (te ao Māori) and their application to natural resource use and allocation in sensitive natural environments. Reuben is an EIANZ accredited Certified Environmental Practitioner with an Impact Assessment Specialisation. He is a Senior Principal, Project Director, Technical Director and Client Manager of Tonkin and Taylor.
