Ecologist

Bio: Katrina is an ecologist with over eight years experience in both technical and consulting roles. Katrina has a Master of Science in Geography from the University of Auckland, where she studied the temporal variations in sandy beaches and the implications for macrofauna. Katrina has worked on a diverse range of both freshwater and marine based projects in local and regional government, mining, urban development and water resources sectors. She has extensive freshwater ecology experience including catchment-wide monitoring programmes, watercourse management plans, ecological impact assessments, compliance monitoring, effects assessments and pollution spill response assessment. Katrina has also completed the Auckland Council Stream Ecological Valuation (SEV) training course and is an experienced electric fishing machine operator. Katrina has worked on a variety of marine ecology based projects both within New Zealand and overseas. Her experience includes benthic recolonisation monitoring surveys, sub-tidal and intertidal habitat mapping, intertidal community assessment and monitoring and ecological impact assessments.
