Bio: Joshua Sargent is an environmental spatial scientist at the University of Waikato. The goal of his research is to better understand coastal flooding hazard decision making and the systematic impacts to rural areas. In addition to teaching spatial analysis papers in environmental planning and geography, he also works as an Outreach Coordinator for the Environmental Research Institute. Prior to coming to New Zealand, Joshua worked for three years as an environmental planner/GIS analyst for a local government environmental agency in the United States. He currently holds a MSc and BSc in Environmental Science and Management from the University of Rhode Island.
