Bio: David Schiel is Distinguished Professor (Marine Science) at Canterbury University. He has led numerous coastal ecology research programs over several decades and has supervised the research of c 90 post-graduatre students. He currently co-leads the MBIE coastal research program Toka Ākau Toitū Kaitiakitanga: Building a sustainable future for coastal reef ecosystems.
